It Takes A Home… is a call to all political candidates in the Victorian state election to:

  • Commit to the federal government target to halve homelessness by 2020
  • Deliver affordable homes
  • Ensure a better start for children and young people experiencing homelessness
  • End the cycle of homelessness by providing support where it is needed, for as long as it is needed
  • Invest in the homelessness workforce delivering services to those in need.

It Takes A Home… was developed by the Council to Homeless Persons in partnership with 15 leading family violence, homelessness and social justice organisations to build bipartisan political support for tackling homelessness in Victoria.

    About the Council to Homeless Persons (CHP)

    More than 23,000 Victorians are homeless and marginally housed. CHP works on their behalf. CHP is an independent non-government organisation representing individuals and organisations with an interest or stake in homelessness. Our mission is to work towards ending homelessness through leadership in policy, advocacy and sector development. Through current membership forums and subscribers, CHP represents more than 120 community organisations.
